WASHINGTON, D.C. — Last Thursday, the world’s largest review platform and social network for climate action, ‘We Don’t Have Time’, formally launched its platform in the nation’s capital with 70 plus attendees participating in speaking panels on how governments, businesses, and activists can influence greenhouse gas emissions. The all-day event was live streamed to an audience of 1.7 million through the ‘We Don’t Have Time’ app and Twitter.

“The fantastic interest of the American launch online was only matched by the excitement of attendees at the physical launch event. It showed us that there is a real hunger for new and inventive ways to come together and find cutting edge ways to address the climate crisis,” said Dr. Sweta Chakraborty, the President of the company’s United States operations. “We were happy to host supporters like John Podesta, Reverend Lennox Yearwood, and David Livingston, and share their perspectives, concerns, and optimism with well over a million people around the world.”

The platform’s Washington launch was just the beginning of the company’s relentless expansion into more countries and communities intent on holding powerful people and companies accountable for their climate action —  or lack thereof. ‘We Don’t Have Time’ encourages users to to discuss, rank, and critique climate actions from a diversity of viewpoints, and then promotes the most popular sentiments to the targets discussed to tackle the challenges of reducing and eliminating their carbon pollution. The platform’s rollout intends to attract potential new users to download the app, connect to a global network of climate concerned citizens, share ideas, and scale solutions.

“The launch rightly coincided with Washington’s ongoing debate about the Biden Administration’s Build Back Better Act and in the shadow of COP26’s international commitments in November, which created interesting back and forths with climate leaders in the business, government, and activist spaces, and affirmed to our growing online community that their engagement is making a difference,” said Dr. Chakraborty. “Holding events like this, showing our users that they are being heard by powerful people, and encouraging activists and other leaders to engage in new ideas and forums will not only help ‘We Don’t Have Time’ become a household name in the United States, but it will also keep climate as a central issue in American politics.”
