WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Pioneer Public Affairs announced the addition of 15-year House and Senate veteran, Kim Corbin, as a partner. Ms. Corbin served as Staff Director of the U.S. Joint Economic Committee under Senator Martin Heinrich before most recently serving as Senior Advisor to Chairman James P. McGovern on the prestigious House Committee on Rules.

“My work in Congress has been about getting results and lifting up those issues traditionally overlooked in the policymaking process,” said Ms. Corbin. “Pioneer Public Affairs’ commitment to creating a healthier, more sustainable future will allow me to continue doing that work. I can’t think of a better place to start the next chapter of my career.”

At Rules, Ms. Corbin planned and executed a landmark anti-hunger initiative that paved the way for President Biden’s announcement last week for a White House Conference on Food, Nutrition, Hunger, and Health that will be held in September 2022—the first such conference in more than 50 years. Ms. Corbin’s unique background will help clients navigate the advocacy needed to advance their public interest contributions across Capitol Hill.

“Kim has always been a force to be reckoned with on Capitol Hill, and her long list of accomplishments proves it,” said Joe Britton, President of Pioneer Public Affairs. “She is a tenacious advocate who really shines when she’s drilling down on issues and developing strategies to get things done—like with the anti-hunger project and the White House Conference. She has a great ability to pioneer the path forward, and I’m excited to have that talent and passion on our team.”

Pioneer launched last year during a crucial time for climate action and other progressive causes in Washington, D.C., where effective navigation of Congress and the Administration will be decisive for success or failure.

Ms. Corbin previously served as Staff Director of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Health under Senator Debbie Stabenow, Legislative Counsel to Senator Mark Udall and Representative Jerry Nadler, and started on the Hill under then-Congressman, now-Senator Robert Menendez.
